Are you about to turn 65?
You have a 7-month open enrollment window to apply for a Medicare Supplement with no Medical Underwriting/3 months before and after your birthday month. Supplements cover the other 20% of costs that Original Medicare doesn’t. They are accepted everywhere medicare is, making them the most “versatile” option. You may want to enroll in an additional part D(drug)plan that I can also help you with.
Your second option is to enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan. These plans can cost as little as $0 and open enrollment is every year Oct 15th to Dec 7th.
Under age 65 with a disability?
You automatically get Part A and Part B after you get disability benefits from Social Security for 24 months. You are also entitled to apply to all programs that someone 65 or older is entitled too.
Over age 65?
PLANS CHANGE EVERY YEAR. Like car insurance, it pays to review your options from time to time.
You can enroll in a supp plan anytime subject to health questions and a Medicare Advantage Plan every Oct 15th to Dec 7th OR you may qualify for a special open enrollment. Ask me!
